No serious people have ever seriously considered the full scale integration of Georgia, as well as Ukraine or Moldova in EU/NATO. This attitude as well as it's disastrous outcome is vividly explained in Boris Johnson's recent op-ed https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/01/30/boris-johnson-putin-nato-ukraine/ . With war in Ukraine this situation has drastically changed. The process which so far has been leading nowhere is significantly accelerated. Let us ask the question: what is the result of this war which Ukrainians would consider if not utterly victorious but just comparatively acceptable: would even let say total restoration of Ukrainian control over Donetsk an Luhansk (which is hardly achievable) compensate the huge human and infrastructural devastation, inflicted on the country?
